Horkman, Orlando, Florida Results of feeding 5 oz. of diatomaceous earth to show horses for a period of one year. Healthier-looking animals with a definite sheen to their coats, absence of internal parasites, better feed conversion, reduction in manure odour, fly control, cured scours in cases where other medications had failed and improved appetites in "picky eaters." We have also found that the fly population has dropped and we have successfully used DE to treat lice. Everyone who meets our goats comments on the soft, rich texture of their coats and we are convinced that the DE plays a role in this as well. Collins, DVM, Midland Animal Clinic and Hospital, Midland, Texas In clinical observations of feeding dogs over 35 lbs. 1 tablespoon/day and under 35 lbs. 1 teaspoon/day of diatomaceous earth, within seven days all ova disappeared from stools. Diatomaceous Earth controlled Ascarids (Toxacara canis), Hookworms (Anclyostoma caninum), and Whipworms (Trichuris vulipis). Reference: www.phdproducts.com FIELD REPORT ON EXPERIMENTAL FEEDING OF CODEX FOOD-GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH TO ZOO ANIMALS Richard Smith, Hallwood Inc., Animal Food Specialties, Grand Rapids, Michigan A mixture of feed incorporating 2% diatomaceous earth was sent to a number of zoos for evaluation including John Ball Park of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Brookfield Zoo of Chicago, Illinois. John
Ball reported that their black bears on the special feed
showed a better coat and clearer eyes. The primates fed at the Brookfield
Zoo displayed a pronounced improvement in both appearance and Reference: www.phdproducts.com FIELD REPORT - FREE CHOICE FEEDING TO DAIRY CATTLE Dairy Herd Association Improvement Program, Hussey Farms, Litchfield Park, Arizona Tests run on purebred Jersey dairy cows given free choice access to codex food-grade diatomaceous earth (DE). Average intake was three ounces per cow per day. After six months the following results were observed:

Reference: www.phdproducts.com RESULTS OF CATTLE FEED LOT TESTS at Webster Feed Lots Inc., Webster, Colorado by Dr. Jack Martin, Sterling Nutritional Services Four groups of cattle of over 300 head each, test steers, control steers, test heifers, control heifers. All groups primarily hereford/angus crosses or "black baldies" with remainder being hereford, angus, or exotics. All groups nearly identical in breed composition. Test groups fed freshwater, food grade DE at the rate of 3% of total daily ration. (Note: Midway through the test, heifer ration was changed from 3% to 1.5% as there had been a reduction in the daily feed consumption with the test heifers. Normal feed consumption resumed with the lower percentage of DE.) Significant findings include: Fewer deaths: DE-fed calves had lower pen mortalities. None of the test group deaths were caused by lactic acidosis, a common result of switching calves from pasture to feedlot. Lower Feed Cost: Test animals experienced daily weight gain similar to the control animals while consuming less feed. Greater Profit: Performance was better in the steer group than the heifer group. The DE-fed steers yielded $9.10 per-head profit than the control steers. The DE-fed heifers produced $8.30 per head more money. REPORT ON FEEDING CODEX FOOD-GRADE DIATOMACEOUS EARTH TO WALKING HORSE L. Thomas, Trainer, L. Frank Roper Stables, Winter Garden, Florida With horses fed approximately 5 oz. of diatomaceous earth mixed in the feed twice daily, the following results were observed:

TESTIMONIALS Last year was the first time I heard of your product and since I expected some milk scours anyway, I bought a bag and distributed it into several tubs in the calf sheds. I saw the calves eat some of your white powder and the milk scours took a short course, the stool hardened within a day. Also tried the grey powder from a different company and the calves didn't like that, it was a waste of money. I just tried it because it was cheaper and shouldn't have. Sylvia Martinetz, Wildwood, Alberta Thought I would drop you a line to let you know how pleased we are that we discovered your product. . . . We were very pleased with the way our calves readily took to it. Our problem was that our calves regularly hung out at the salt feeder and also licked dirt. This year we put DE out as soon as the first calf arrived and we find they start eating it when just a few days old. They have virtually no interest in salt or dirt. We put DE out fresh everyday in the creep. It is doing a great job for us. Thanks again for a super product. Dale & Susannah Krinke, McBride, British Columbia
. . . . the results of last year were definitely positive. It cut our scour cases down to almost zero. . . . .This is truly a Godsend product in relation to expensive antibiotics and the stress on calf and farmer. Allan Szklaruk, St. Martin, Manitoba Three winters ago, calf scours were a severe problem for the commercial cattle herd her family owns near Langham, Sask. They began using your diatomaceous earth and the problem disappeared. "We were pretty desperate. We would have tried anything." Kasahoff said the scours appeared again last year when they were without DE for two weeks. The scours became so severe that two calves were placed on intravenous to overcome dehydration. The problem subsided after a new supply of DE arrived. "We really believe in the stuff." Reprinted with permission from the Western Producer, March 9/00, Ian Bell; Quotes from Evelyn Kasahoff, Langham, Saskatchewan Heidi Farms is a dairy operation, milking approximately 250 head. We first started using DE because there was mold in the feed and the cows were spitting up their cuds. We fed the DE at a rate of 100 grams per cow per day and that solved the problem. We have continued to feed the DE at this rate – an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We double that rate for a few days when the heifers come in from pasture, to eliminate worms, etc. Heidi Farms, Bainsville, Ontario We are producers of purebred and commercial Black Angus cattle and feel that your DE is worth the money to try and use, and will be here to stay for a long time. This product works great for a variety of problems. The first thing we used the DE for was probably the same as all the other producers, namely giving it to the baby calves to stop them from eating things they are not supposed to be eating. This helps solve the problem of scours and stomach indigestion. Another use we found was when we had three head of yearling replacement heifers that went off their feed and got loose manure. We first tried a stock doctor to medicate them with Trivetrin, which is not a long lasting medication and a shot was required for three consecutive days. This worked the first day, but the next day we could not get close enough to treat them again. So we decided to just put out a tub with DE in it. After putting DE in the tub for four days in a row, we found that the sick heifers had gotten over their problems, and there were no other animals in the pen that got sick. Another use we found was to use theDE on the backs of animals to get rid of lice and flies. The lice control was hard to see if it was totally effective but we think it helped a lot. As far as flies, it worked but had to be used every other day to keep good control. We have also used the DE on our horses for the control of flies in the summer. We were also surprised to see the horses eat the DE, which of course was good for them to get rid of internal parasites. Also, the DE was used for the control of potato bugs on the plants and worms on the trees. Kelly & Audrey Kaufmann, Wrangler Ridge Ranch, Lake Alma, Saskatchewan Wonderful product. Calves had no scours last year or this year, even though cows weren't vaccinated nor were the calves. Have already recommended product to several area producers Branko & Frieda Krpan, St. Laurent, Manitoba We have not needed to give one scours pill since using this product. This product works for us! Ken & Darcy Mason, Oak Point, Manitoba Worked well for scours control. I told two other producers about it, they bought it and liked it. Lorne Smith, Kerrobert, Saskatchewan Works great. Did not have to treat one calf for scours since I began to use DE in 1998. Use DE, it works. Rick Schon, St. Laurent, Manitoba It made a significant difference in the number of incidence of scours. It's worth it. Curtis Bundus, Bulyea, Saskatchewan I offer the calves some DE within 2 days of birth then give them approximately 1/2 cup twice daily for them to lick out of a feed dish.
